Weekend Video

(Early-Late 1980s)

Logo: Against a red background, 3 searchlights move randomly in each direction. A blue line appears & moves in whilst drawing an outlined rectangle, aswell as the words "Weekend video", with a glowing flare accompanying by it. Once the blue line finished drawing, it points to the dotless I, forming a blue glow against "Weekend video" and the outlined rectangle. It flashes on the I's dot, then the rectangle & text turns into a metallic look, with glowing stars.

Variant: A version exists where it starts on a black background with the logo animation flipping over and zooming into place.

Technique: The searchlights, the blue line drawing the rectangle and text and the flashing.

Music/Sounds: A triumphant fanfare with a series of warbling whooshes, ending with another whoosh.

Availability: Extremely rare.
