Background

United Thai Navy Film Production (also known as S. Navy Films) was a film production arm of the Thailand's Royal Thai Navy, founded in the 1950's. Its first film which was released on May 10, 1957, The Garuda Nails (Leb Garuda), won two Golden Doll Awards on its first academy. It was closed sometime in the late 1980's.



1st Logo (1966, 1968?)

Logo: On a blue shining background, we see an emblem with an anchor on the middle and a banner saying the Thai name of the company.

Technique: None.

Music/Sounds: A short dramatic trumpet fanfare with a cymbal crash and a bell at the end.

Availability: Seen on the film The Battle of Bang Rajan. It was also appeared on the original prints of the 1968 film The Return of Dr. Chang.

2nd Logo (1981)

Logo: On a blue background, we see an emblem with an anchor on the middle and a banner saying the Thai name of the company. On the bottom of it, we see the English name of the company.

Technique: None.

Music/Sounds: The Sony Demonstration fanfare.

Availability: Only seen on The Skies and the Dome.

Legacy: This fanfare was used in Hong Kong and Taiwan, but usually in Thailand, we see different fanfares or other fanfares we heard before in Hong Kong, Taiwanese, Indonesian and other logos. This one uses a fanfare that was used 4 times. It's nice to see something unique.

3rd Logo (1985, 1986?)

Logo: On a space background, TBA.

Technique: TBA

Music/Sounds: The same theme as Bangkok Film from 1976 to 1979.

Availability: Scarce.
