Pepper's Ghost Productions
Background
Pepper's Ghost Productions was an animation and licensing company based in the United Kingdom. It was best known for co-producing the computer-animated educational show Tiny Planets along with Sesame Workshop. The company was dissolved on January 15, 2013.[1]
1st Logo (September 1999-2001)
Logo: To the left of the Children's Television Workshop logo, we see, inside of a green rectangle, an intricately designed purple rectangular speech bubble with a design cut into it that can be interpreted in one of two ways:
- A squinting bearded man with a top hat with a patch on it who is facing the right, and another face smiling and looking at the camera that overlaps the man's eye.
- A strange, smiling and seemingly fuzzy creature with a long, slim neck, a long, curled trunk and a top hat with a patch on it.
Below this design, we see the name of the company:
GHõST
The "H" and "T" rest above two shiny dots.
Technique: None.
Music/Sounds: The closing theme of the pilot.
Availability: Seen on the original pilot for Tiny Planets. This logo was also used on its website and other related material from 1999 to 2001.
2nd Logo (June 10, 2001-December 21, 2002)
Logo: On a white background, to the right of the Sesame Workshop logo and on top of some purple, smoke-like spots that slowly scroll to the left, the name of the company in the same style as before, in purple blurs in. A minimal starburst effect with purple stars also fades in along with the company logo and rotates around it. A copyright notice is seen below.
Variant: There also exists a still variant, which has just the text. This was used on their now-defunct website from around 2002 until sometime in 2007 or 2008, which was when their site redirected to the main website for the defunct children's MMO, My Tiny Planets.
Technique: All 2D animation.
Music/Sounds: The closing theme of the show.
Availability: Seen on Tiny Planets.
