United Artists Media Group was an entertainment company founded by reality television producer Mark Burnett (best known for Survivor, Shark Tank, The Voice, and The Celebrity Apprentice) in 2000 as Mark Burnett Productions. On April 26, 2011, Hearst acquired 50% stake in the company and created a joint venture with Burnett to form One Three Media. On September 22, 2014, MGM acquired 55% in the company and Lightworkers Media. Then they merged the two companies to form a new company that revives the United Artists brand as United Artists Media Group, with Burnett's wife, actress and producer Roma Downey joined the company. On December 14, 2015, MGM acquired the remaining 45% stake, becoming its wholly-owned subsidiary, and it was later folded into MGM Television. As a result, it's now an in-name-only unit of MGM Television known as "UAMG Content, LLC".

Mark Burnett Productions

(May 31, 2000-May 8, 2012)

Logo: On a live action fiery background, we see a flaming torch swaying back and forth to reveal the yellow words "a MARK BURNETT production" styled in a Day 24 font.

  • A short version exists.
  • An in-credit version exists.
  • The logo sometimes shares the screen with other logos.
  • In 2008, the logo was enhanced with more realistic effects and a high quality.
  • On some international shows, "a" and "production" are replaced by "international".

Technique: Live-action combined with computer effects.

Music/Sounds: None, the sound of fire, a generic theme on NBC, ABC, CBS and Fox, or the closing theme of the show.

Availability: Uncommon. It was seen on pre-2012 episodes of Survivor, Shark Tank, The Voice and The Apprentice. It was also seen on international versions of their shows that Mark Burnett created such as The Apprentice UK and The Contender Asia.

One Three Media

(January 20, 2012-May 21, 2014)

Logo: A light flare reveals a "1" (stylized as the letter "I") and a number "3" on a gray background with white flooring, with a spotlight shining on the numbers. Then, an "O" slides from the left of the "1", and the letters "NE" slide from the right of the same number. The same thing happens to the "3", whereas a "THR" slides from the left of it, and an "E" slides from the right of the same number. The resulting product looks like this:

"MEDIA" turns to the right of "THR3E" and is stylized sideways. A banner turns up from the bottom of the logo and reads, "A HEARST | MARK BURNETT COMPANY". The logo shines.

Technique: Simple CGI animation.

Music/Sounds: None or a generic theme (and a voice over) on NBC, ABC or CBS.

Availability: Common. It should be seen on Survivor, Shark Tank, and The Voice episodes from this era. It was retained on 2012-2014 season episodes of Shark Tank on CNBC.

United Artists Media Group

(September 26, 2014-May 24, 2016)

Logo: A still version of the 2001 United Artists logo, except that below the metallic "U\" insignia, we see the text "UNITED ARTISTS MEDIA GROUP" with a small trademark "TM" symbol next to the letter "P", and below that, "AN MGM COMPANY", both in silver. A silver line separates the company name and the MGM byline.

Variant: Sometimes, the logo can appear close-up.

Technique: None.

Music/Sounds: None, a synth cymbal sound or a generic network theme.

Availability: Quite rare due to its short lifespan.

  • This first made an appearance on the pilot episode of On the Menu. It appeared on Survivor, Shark Tank, The Voice, The Sing-Off, The Apprentice, and The Celebrity Apprentice.
  • This was also seen on 500 Questions and the revival of Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?, both during the summer of 2015.
