National Broadcasting Services of Thailand
Background
National Broadcasting Services of Thailand (NBT) is one of the public broadcasting arms of Thailand, run by the national Government Public Relations Department (PRD). Their TV station started operating since October 1, 1985.
For more logos from the company, see this video.
1st Logo (1985-1987)
Logo: At first, we see footage of birds flying, an ocean scenery, and fish swimming. The text "กรมประชาสัมพันธ์" ("The Government Public Relations Department") in yellow moves by. From there, we move to a sunset background. The text "โทรทัศน์แห่งประเทศไทย" ("Television of Thailand") swoops in onto the screen from below. After awhile, the text "ทางเลือกใหม่ของปวงชน" ("New options for the people") moves in from the bottom on the opposite side. This transitions to the logo moving around on a space background, with the channel initials extruding themselves on the logo.
Technique: Live action footage and CGI.
Music/Sounds: It starts off with an upbeat ethnic synthpop theme, transitioning into a chorus (which would be used for the next 20 years) singing the company slogan listed above.
Availability: Extinct.
2nd Logo (1987-1992)
Logo: On a starfield with glowing stars and nebulas, a blue segmented TV screen shaped square flips into view. The square has green and red streaks on its sides, revealing the broadcast number of the station "11". The white text "สทท." then zooms out from the top of the screen and settles on the logo. The company name and motto featured in the previous logo write themselves in below in white.
Technique: CGI.
Music/Sounds: The same chorus from the previous logo.
Availability: Extinct.
3rd Logo (1990-1992)
Logo: We see a textured column top on a white-and-blue chequered floor. Five square borders (which are purple, blue, green, red, and yellow) rotate and fly towards the viewer. The logo can be seen in the distance, and the camera moves to it. The camera then rotates across the logo and goes through it, rotating around to the other side(?). The text "สทท.", this time in black, zooms out and settles on the logo. After this, the company name in cyan and the motto in blue appear from the bottom with a rippling effect.
Technique: CGI.
Music/Sounds: A stock-sounding UFO whoosh sound, and the chorus theme from the previous logos.
Availability: Another station ident/end bumper, so likely not seen on television.
4th Logo (1992-1994)
Logo: We zoom out from a cylindrical space station on a starfield. As the camera spins through it the glass satellite on the top of it opens, and shoots a blue beam to the left side. The beam then travels through the camera and turns into 3D stripes, and as the camera moves around it reveals the other parts seen from the segmented logo design from before, as the green and red stripes wipe in. The camera then zooms away from the forming product and the metallic text "สทท." zooms out into place. We see the logo on the centre, but we zoom away from it as the channel name and motto form in with yellow light beams. The camera then settles.
Technique: CGI.
Music/Sounds: See above.
Availability: Extinct.
5th Logo (1994-2001)
Logo: The logo begins the same way as before (the space station part), but as the blue beams get to us, we fade into a red hole with various spheres floating. The camera quickly pans up and reveals the exterior of the red hole, being surrounded by a metallic ring as some pillars of different patterns and materials are seen standing on it. The camera rotates as we see everything, and a transparent globe of the planet Earth rises up from the red hole, as a red sphere appears and orbits around it. A glossy cylinder passes through the Earth and the black background turns into a world map on a blue sky-like background and the colours from the logo seen in the front. The planet Earth then shatters into a Rubik-like cube with the same three colours and all the cubes forming it go away into each side as they reveal the "11" square logo seen on the previous two logos. The logo spins as the yellow company name and motto zoom out and everything takes place.
Technique: CGI.
Music/Sounds: Same as before.
Availability: Extinct.
6th Logo (2005-2008)
Logo: We see a wireframe purple globe spinning with yellow searchlights. As the globe moves away and reveals pink lights, we fade into the zooming "11" wordmark over a blurry background, with a reflection of another spinning globe. Another fade happens and reveals the spinning logomark seen from the previous ident on a purple light background, and it zooms out to top view as the Thai motto appears below with a light trail effect.
Technique: CGI.
Music/Sounds: A string note, then cutting off into the trademark jingle from the previous four idents.
Availability: Extinct.
