NET International Science Magazine

(1963?-1966?)

Logo: Just a print logo of the 7th NET logo with the words "INTERNATIONAL SCIENCE MAGAZINE" underneath it. It then zooms out to the top right corner.

Technique: The zooming effects.

Music/Sounds: The opening theme to the show.

Availability: Very rare. This can be found on early episodes of Spectrum.

NET Science

1st Logo (1966)

Logo: On a black background, the word "NET" in yellow appears letter-by-letter. The words "SCIENCE" and "presents...}}" slide in below "NET".

Closing Variant: The words "A presentation of" are on the screen. The words "NET SCIENCE" appear below it in the same way as the regular variant.

Technique: The letters appearing, and the words sliding.

Music/Sounds:

  • Regular variant: Uses a fast paced drum beat.
  • Closing variant: A 6 chord piano tune, followed by a few notes played on a flute. Towards the end you can hear a drum beat similar to the one from the regular variant.

Availability: Rare. Can be seen on Attack Patterns of Sharks.

Legacy: Other than the cheesy animation of the text appearing, the logo is somewhat boring. It was possibly a placeholder.

2nd Logo (1966-1969)

Logo: On a blue background, the word "NET" zooms in onto the screen, with each letter stacked on top of each other. The letters separate, making the logo more clear. The words "SCIENCE" and "PRESENTS" quickly slide in. The scene fades to a rotating white grid.

Variants:

  • A variant exists with the NET logo and "SCIENCE PRESENTS" in orange and the background in black.
  • A black and white variant also exists.

Technique: The logo zooming in at the beginning and the rotating grid.

Music/Sounds: A lower pitched extended version of the first logo's closing variant.

Availability: Rare. Can be seen on Changing the Weather, Drugs Against Cancer, The Jet Train is Here, Games People Play: The Practice and Games People Play: The Theory. The black and white variant can be seen on And the Vikings Came and The Search for Cancer Viruses. The black background and orange text variant can be seen in The Alcoholic American.
