A production/film sales company started by Mark Damon after his previous company, Vision International, folded. MDP Worldwide

(September 1, 1993-2004)

Logo: A golden oval globe wireframe zooms out while shining, as the blue letters "M", "D" (which covers the globe wireframe), and "P" fade in one by one. A yellow line draws below it, while the purple text "WORLDWIDE" fades below.

Variant: On some video releases of films produced by this company such as Inner Sanctum 2, "Home Video" appears in place of "Worldwide."

Technique: Computer animation.

Music/Sounds: None or the opening theme of the movie.

Availability: Found on Blood for Blood (a.k.a. Midnight Man), Bad Blood (a.k.a. Viper), Inner Sanctum 2, and Shootfighter 2, among others. It is unknown if it appeared on foreign prints of The Jungle Book (1994), which they co-produced with Disney; it does not appear on the Australian VHS, though the print logo appears on the packaging. Makes an appearance on George and the Dragon in spite of the company rebranding to Media 8 by that point.

Media 8 Entertainment

On October 10, 2003, the company changed its name to Media 8 Entertainment. It filed for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy in April of 2012. Bloom Media was its successor.

(January 18, 2003-March 1, 2010)

Logo: A seagull flies over the water and touches it twice, casting ripples that join together into "8" while the words:

e n t e r t a i n m e n t

rotate in above.

Variant: There is a still variant with a plainer, brighter picture and the seagull in flight. It appeared on the company's website.

Technique: Great CGI animation.

Music/Sounds: A majestic soundtrack, with two dings when the seagull touches the water.

Availability: Common on the movies distributed by Media 8 worldwide. The still version was seen on the Media 8 website and the trailer for a re-release of Monster by Millennium Films.
