Kaling International, Inc.
Background
This is the production company of actress and comedian, Mindy Kaling.
(September 25, 2012-)
Logo: In a dark teal and white silhouetted bedroom at night, we see a girl (possibly an illustration of a young Mindy Kaling) underneath her covers at the end of the bed, reading a book with her flashlight on. The company name is seen in a serif typeface near the bed in white with a line sandwiched between; alongside a faint gold light reflecting on it. After a few seconds, the lights in the room turn off, showing just the name completely in white along with the full window at nighttime seen near it.
Technique: 2D animation.
Music/Sounds: Just Matt Warburton (executive producer of The Mindy Project) saying "Go to bed!".
Music/Sounds Variants:
- Sometimes, the closing theme plays over it with the voice intact.
- Original Fox and NBC airings had a generic theme and a voiceover.
- Sometimes, Warburton's voice is removed and there are different sound effects depending on the episode.
Availability: Common. Can be seen on shows produced by Mindy Kaling such as The Mindy Project, Champions, the TV series adaptation of Four Weddings and a Funeral, Never Have I Ever, The Sex Lives of College Girls, and (far more infamously) Velma. It does not appear on the 2019 film Late Night, despite Kaling being involved.
