Bumper: The then-current HBO logo appears on a black background, with a solid tricolored trail consisting of the colors red, yellow and blue to the left of the "H", and a shining star-like light between the "B" and "O".
Technique: None.
Music/Sounds: A male announcer says the following: "Welcome to Home Box Office subscription television, bringing you great movies, sporting events and original shows, unedited and commercial-free. It's good to have you with us."
Availability: Extinct. Seen whenever HBO signed on until it completed the transition to broadcasting 24 hours a day on December 28, 1981.
