1st Logo (June 10, 1997-February 1, 1999)

Logo: On a yellow background is the HBO logo with a red ball inside the "O" and the word "FAMILY" in a purple square with static covering parts of the square. A yellow dog's eye appears in the center of the O, then the dog emerges from it and winks, before the square turns around to reveal the logo again.

  • On a sky background with birds flying, the HBO Family logo is inside a light blue box, a fly pops out of the "O", winks at us, and files away.
  • On a space background with four planets aligning, the HBO Family logo files from the bottom, and a 3-eyed purple alien appears from the "O", winks and waves at us, then gets sucked up by a flying saucer.
  • We see the HBO Family logo and a purple dog with a red-striped bone in his mouth saying "Happy holidays!", then a red square reading "HAPPY HOLIDAYS" and some noisemakers instead of the HBO Family logo.
