Eros International

1st Logo (1996-2007)

Nicknames: "Eros Space", "25th Eros"

Logo: On a space background, comets are seen shooting. It then reveals the barred shape with the word "EROS" is on the top of the barred object on a space background. As it turns around and rotates, the ring with the word "INTERNATIONAL" rotates and slides down to form "EROS INTERNATIONAL", holding the ring in place. The company's URL fades in at the top-right corner.

Variants:

  • A 25th anniversary variant introduced in 2002, also exists.
  • Sometimes, "Presents" appears below.
  • On VHS and DVD releases, the text says "It's an Eros International Release".
  • Filmed and videotaped versions exist.

FX/SFX: The streaks and "EROS" morphing and rotating, the name "INTERNATIONAL" sliding down.

Music/Sounds: A dramatic synth tune. In later years, the music is more powerful.

Availability: Rare. Spotted on distributed copies of Eros International films in Indian VHS and DVD copies and online.

Editor's Note: None.

2nd Logo (2007)

Logo: We zoom out from an overhead view of a city (possibly Mumbai) to the clouds until the planet Earth is revealed. Suddenly, it becomes an oval shape as "EROS" in gold zooms out with a red ribbon with "INTERNATIONAL".

FX/SFX: The streaks and "EROS" morphing and rotating, the name "INTERNATIONAL" sliding down.

Music/Sounds: A tune sang by a choir.

Availability: Ultra rare. Was possibly a placeholder.

Editor's Note: None.

3rd Logo (2007-2011)

Logo: We see a bunch of stars on a space background, then we see a galaxy and we zoom in it, and the Earth zooms to us. The continents then shine and "EROS" appears to the right of the Earth. A white banner then appears with "INTERNATIONAL" in blue underneath "EROS". The URL "www.erosentertainment.com" appears below. Blue searchlights then shine on "E" and "S" and fade out.

Variant: On the logo's first year, the text "CELEBRATING 30 YEARS" in blue forms in an arc above the Earth, and an additional blue banner appears, with "1977-2007" in it. The URL is also in a metallic shade of silver.

FX/SFX: Nice CGI.

Music/Sounds: A different tune sang by a choir.

Availability: Rare.

Editor's Note: None.

4th Logo (2011- )

Notes:

  • For the second video, the logo starts at 1:07.
  • For the third video, the logo starts at 1:15.

Logo: We see Sanskrit text on a blue/silver horizontal bar with the reflections of clouds, which we zoom out of a little bit. It starts to rotate, as the text glows blue and more vertical bars can be seen in the background. We zoom out more as the shapes of other bars appear and the text becomes less visible, until a metal rendition of South America proves we are looking at a model of the Earth. We start to zoom out fully as we see the large metal text "EROS" on the globe, with a blue banner stating "INTERNATIONAL" below it. The clouds and sky are orange as if its sunrise or sunset. When the logo finally settles into place, we see that the globe sculpture is being held by the statue of a man, not unlike Atlas of Greek mythology. To the man's below and sides are two lion statues. The byline "AN EROS VENTURES COMPANY" is engraved at the bottom of the structure.

Variants:

  • On the end of international prints of films, "WORLD WIDE RELEASE" replaces the byline "AN EROS VENTURES COMPANY".
  • Starting in 2018, the logo is more colorful. The globe is tan, the continents are green, and the "EROS" text, "INTERNATIONAL" banner, and statues are dark blue. The sky is also much darker, some clouds to the right are removed and the byline is more readable.
  • The logo is sometimes shortened, starting when Australia and Papua New Guinea are finally revealed.

FX/SFX: The globe rotating and zooming. Nice CGI animation.

Music/Sounds: The first second is silent, but upon zooming out, it's a majestic rising orchestral theme that, once the Eros text appears, becomes a triumphant trumpet fanfare with bells ringing.

Availability: Current.

Editor's Note: A very solid and nice logo all around. The color choices on the 2018 revamp are a bit tacky, though.
