Background
Cinemax is an American premium cable and satellite television network that is owned by HBO, a subsidiary of Warner Bros. Discovery Studios & Networks Group. Launched on August 1, 1980, it was developed as a companion "maxi-pay" service complementing the offerings shown on its parent network and initially first focused on recent and classic films. The current programming on Cinemax is made up of of recent and older theatrically-released films, original action series, documentaries and special behind-the-scenes featurettes.
