Background

This is Dottie Dartland Zicklin's vanity card.

1st Logo (September 24-November 12, 1997)

Nickname: "The Surfboard", "It's 4 To 6-Foot!"

Logo: On a black background, we see a sky blue surfboard with magenta lines on it. Above the surfboard is the text "4 TO 6 FOOT PRODUCTiONS".

FX/SFX: None.

Music/Sounds: Through the start of it's use, it was originally silent.

Music/Sounds Variant: Later on, it used a Malibu-style slide guitar riff with a surfer shouting "It's 4 to 6-foot!".

Availability: Seen on the first eight episodes of season 1 of Dharma and Greg.

Editor's Note: None.

2nd Logo (November 19, 1997-March 28, 2012)

Nickname: "The Surfer Dude"

Logo: We see a colorful drawing of a surfer (with a black shirt and a red mullet) surfing a huge wave, moving from left to right. The background, which quickly gets engulfed by the wave, contains a red mountain and a purple sky with a red and yellow smiling sun. Underneath the water are the words "4 To 6 FOOT" written in bubbles, and underneath that are "PRODUCTiONS" in regular letters. There are also urchins, starfishes, and kelp. As the surfer goes out of view, the camera pans downward to the letters, where a couple of fish swim toward them.

Variant: On Are You There, Chelsea?, the logo's colors look washed out.

FX/SFX: Stop-motion 2D animation.

Music/Sounds: Same as the later variant from the last logo.

Music/Sounds Variants: On Are You There, Chelsea?, a splashing wave is heard. ABC and NBC airings used their generic themes.

Availability: Seen on Dharma and Greg starting with S1 E9 as well as season 2, and the short-lived NBC series Are You There, Chelsea?.

Editor's Note: None.
