Background

Tricon Films & Television was a Toronto-based independent producer and distributor that was founded in 2000 by Andrea Gorfolova. The company produced and distributed shows such as Counterfeit Cat and On The Record with Mick Rock. On May 3, 2017 US-based producer/distributor Sonar Entertainment acquired the indie producer to expand it's content and they folded the company into the latter.

(2007-2017)

Logo: On a black background, we see a filmstrip sliding in, with an image of a red horse and the words "TRICON FILMS & TELEVISION below the horse, which pans down from the camera, before the logo settles to the center. The words "Distributed By" and a copyright date appears above and below the logo.

Variants:

  • An in-credit print version of the logo exists.
  • Sometimes, the text reads "Produced by", "Produced & Distributed by" or nothing at all.

Technique: Computer animation.

Music/Sounds: The end theme of the show.

Availability: Seen on Tricon's shows from the period. Was later plastered by the Sonar Entertainment logo.
