Background

North One Television (formerly Chrysalis Television) was a production company that was founded in 1988 by Chrysalis Group plc and became its current name in 2004. Today, it was owned by All3Media.

1st Logo (2004-2020)

Logo: On a white background, we see an outlined hexagon that rotates through the center of the screen. The center hexagon then fills in with blue, while a black hexagon then rotates in, which becomes the letter "O". The word "NORTH" fades in with the hexagon acting as the "O", and then another large black hexagon flips in, which turns it into white when the hexagon flips in. A white line then draws the letters "N" and "E" forming "ONE". The word "TELEVISION" fades in below, and the All3Media logo fades in below, and then the arrow fades in when the hexagon finishes flipping.

Variants:

  • The logo may occasionally appear in a box and share the screen with other logos.
  • Sometimes, the logo is still.
  • From 2003 to 2013, the pre-2013 All3Media logo faded below.
  • From 2013 to 2020, the 2013-2021 All3Media logo appears below.
  • On programmes produced by its Midlands division, the light blue word "MIDLANDS" is shown between the word "TELEVISION" and the All3Media logo.

Technique: The flipping.

Music/Sounds: None or the end theme of the show.

Availability: It was saved on virtually all pre-2020 North One Television programmes and documentaries such as Fifth Gear, Gadget Man, The Gadget Show, Eddie Eats America, Eat Your Heart Out with Nick Helm and pre-2019 episodes of Travel Man, among others.

2nd Logo (2020- )

Logo: On a white background, we see a dark blue circle drawing in, as the word "north one" draws in, and then the circle fills in with blue, and the logo zooms in.

Variants:

  • Sometimes, the post-2021 All3Media logo is shown next to the logo, with the byline "An All3Media Company" next to it.
  • Sometimes, the logo is still.
  • Sometimes, the logo shares the screen with other logos.

Technique: The drawing.

Music/Sounds: None or the end theme of the show.

Availability: Seen on new seasons of current shows which are Travel Man, Fifth Gear and The Gadget Show as well as new shows and documentaries produced from this company since 2020 such as Guy's Garage and Red Dwarf: The First 3 Million Years, among others.
