Background
Kilter Films is a production company headed by Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy, best known for Person of Interest and Westworld.
1st Logo (September 22, 2011-December 4, 2016)
Logo: The camera moves up from a shot of moving gears to reveal a steel surface with several ring outlines. The rings, containing pieces of "KILTER FILMS" rotate to combine the parts together. Shortly after, the rings rotate again.
Variant: An early version has the logo with more detailed textures, more lighting and bokeh lights, and shortened where the logo starts with the ring outlines.
Technique: Cool CGI animation of the camera panning and the rings rotating.
Music/Sounds: Mechanical sounds of parts combining as well as electronic buzz in the background. Otherwise, none.
Availability: Common. Seen on Person of Interest and season 1 of Westworld.
2nd Logo (April 22-June 24, 2018)
Logo: On a dark background with multiple mechanical parts, in front is the company's name with bars and claws controlling some of its parts. They would carry them downwards to form the company's name with the formation almost complete when we cut to a farther shot of the process with a wheel revealed in the background.
Technique: The text being put together with machinery, done in CGI like before.
Music/Sounds: The ending theme of the show.
Availability: Only seen on season 2 of Westworld.
3rd Logo (March 15, 2020-)
Logo: On a black background, a stylized white "k" on the left, made up of multiple shapes with rounded ends, scrolls upwards with the very bottom half distorted, appearing as if the logo is being printed on a rolling machine. To the right is the company's name in white and in a stacked format using the same animation as the "k"
Variant: A still version exists.
Technique: Simple animation of the logo sliding up.
Music/Sounds: None or the ending theme of the show.
Availability: Brand new. Seen on season 3 of Westworld as well as the end of Reminiscence. It also appears on The Peripheral.
