Background

This is Jeff Tremaine's production company. It was formerly known as "Jackass Productions" and "Dickhouse Productions".

Jackass Productions

(October 1-November 19, 2000)

Logo: A waving US flag with the words "jackass productions" in white on it.

Technique: Live action.

Music/Sounds: The sounds of the Jackass cast.

Availability: Seen on season 1 of Jackass.

Dickhouse Productions

1st Logo (February 18-August 12, 2001, 2002)

Logo: Depending on the show, we see the sculpture of a chicken in various real-life places, with the words:

dickhouse
productions

superimposed on the scene in white.

Technique: Live action.

Music/Sounds: Just the sounds of the Jackass cast.

Availability: Seen on all episodes of season 2 and season 3 of Jackass, as well as The Making of Jackass: The Movie.

2nd Logo (September 2001-April 3, 2014, February 4-May 20, 2022)

Logo: On a black background, a spark swirls around, forming a rainbow and the word "dickhouse" below.

Variant: Sometimes, the text "jackassworld.com" appears below "dickhouse" via another spark.

Technique: 2D animation.

Music/Sounds: Some twinkling, accompanied by a chicken squawk (sourced from the Warner Bros. sound library).

Availability: Common. It was originally seen on reruns of Jackass and continues to appear on other Jackass related media. Also seen on the first four seasons of Ridiculousness and season 1-2 of Loiter Squad. Despite the rebrand to Gorilla Flicks in 2014, this logo was surprisingly used on Jackass Forever and Jackass 4.5.

3rd Logo (October 25, 2002)

Logo: Against a dark sky with rolling clouds, we zoom toward the shadow of a chicken facing left. Some lightning flashes occur, briefly revealing the chicken. Then, the chicken is fully revealed as the company name from the 1st logo fades in below. The chicken turns its head toward us and blinks a few times.

Technique: Stop motion and live-action footage.

Music/Sounds: The Funeral March and thunderclaps with a metallic cling for the first clap. A chicken squawk is heard at the end.

Availability: Only seen on Jackass: The Movie.

4th Logo (September 22, 2006-May 5, 2010)

Logo: Essentially, an extended version of the 2nd logo: We see a mouth open up (possibly that of Jackass' Steve-O), followed by several multicolored lights, ribbons, and butterflies flying toward us. Some of the ribbons curl up into the rainbow from the 2nd logo, ending with a spark swirling around forming the word "dickhouse" below.

Technique: All 2D animation.

Music/Sounds: A yawning sound with loud whooshing sounds and a synth drone as the colors fly around, ending with twinkling and the screaming cluck from the 2nd logo.

Availability: Seen on Jackass Number Two, Jackass 2.5 and The Wild and Wonderful Whites of West Virginia.

5th Logo (October 15, 2010-June 15, 2014)

Logo: On a black background, we see a chicken flying upwards, with feathers flying everywhere. The chicken then falls downwards and, like in the 2nd logo, a spark swirls around, forming the Dickhouse logo.

Technique: Live action mixed with 2D animation.

Music/Sounds: The sound of the chicken's wings flapping, ending with twinkling and the screaming cluck from the 2nd and 4th logos.

Availability: Seen on Jackass 3D, Jackass 3.5, Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa, and Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa .5.

Gorilla Flicks

(May 15, 2014-)

Logo: On a limeish background, we see a sparkly, six-color rainbow slide down from the top of the screen. A filmstrip slips out from the left and intersects the rainbow, and they keep going their separate ways. The rainbow finishes its course, revealing a smaller section of filmstrip with rainbow squares. The word "GORILLA" is on top of this new filmstrip, while "FLICKS" is beneath it; both words are written in a thick, grungy font. The logo jiggles and glitches slightly. Everything mimics the grainy quality of an old projector.

Variants:

  • On TV prints of Ridiculousness, the logo is still.
  • At the end of Bad Girls, the logo is also still but on a black background with the text changed to white.

Technique: 2D animation. On TV prints of Ridiculousness, none.

Music/Sounds: A projector's countdown beep, followed by the sound of a film projector rolling with a glockenspiel scale when the rainbow comes down (the same one heard in the BRB Productions logo as well as various other media as a sound effect), and a monkey screech (sourced from The Hollywood Edge Premiere Edition Vol. 1) when the logo is finished.

Availability: Seen on the third season of Loiter Squad, as well as season 5 onwards of Ridiculousness and its new spin-offs Deliciousness, Adorableness and Messyness. It also appeared at the end of Bad Trip.
